Salary and bond of officer following consolidation
(1) (a) When two or more offices are consolidated under a single officer, such officer shall receive as salary an amount to be determined by the board or boards of county commissioners, but which amount must not be more than 20% higher than the highest salary provided by law to be paid to any officer whose duties he is required to perform by reason of such consolidations.
(b) The board or boards shall, in June of each fourth year, adopt a resolution fixing the salary of such officer for the term beginning with the first Monday in January immediately following the adoption of such resolution.
