Inquiries and investigations by budget director

The budget director or his designated representative shall make such further inquiries and investigations as he considers necessary as to any item included in the report and estimates furnished by any department, agency, or institution. In making such investigations, he shall be allowed his travel expenses as provided for in 2-18-501 through 2-18-503, as amended, in visiting any institution or department in the state.
